Welcome to Barry Summers & Co website we are a local accountancy firm based in Spennymoor, County Durham, looking after many range of businesses.
Whatever your business or whatever you need us for, our aims is to give you the best service and value for money. Most of our clients come from Spennymoor but we do have clients who come from Newton Aycliffe, Ferryhill, Bishop Auckland and may other areas, we think that they come to us due to our aim and services we offer to them.
We offer services from your completing your financial accounts for your limited company, self employment, partnerships, completing your VAT returns, employees payslips and deductions and much much more.

OUR HISTORY
Barry Summers & Co was founded by Barry Summers in April 1983, since leaving his previous employment over 30 years ago within an accountancy practice, decide to go it alone and began Barry Summers & Co - Accountants & Taxation Consultants. For which over the number of years have helped and support many ranges of businesses from Small Sole Traders to Larger Organisations. In June 2010 the business expanded with the addition of Tony Jackson joining the firm helping and supporting the firm in the day to day running and also improving the technology of the business for which Tony become a partner in the firm making the firm into a Partnership with Barry.
It was decided in February 2013 the business was expanding and we needed further support by extra staff and also bigger premises for which in April 2013 the firm bought the current property at 29 Whitworth Terrace, Spennymoor for which many years before was a Butchers Shop for which after a few months investing and improving the property moved in August 2013.
In March 2016 it was discussed and decided the business needed to move from Partnership to Limited Company for which on 3rd March 2017 the company started trading as Barry Summers & Co Limited - Accountants & Taxation Consultants making the two Directors Barry Summers and Tony Jackson for which to this day we are still going strong and expanding with more clients joining our practice.
